These installations are known to put enemy vessels at edge as they don't know what they will be firing. Some of these weapons will fire normal missiles and some are armed with antimatter missiles, these installations are shielded to protect the intregrity of surprise preventing scans.

These turrets were creaed to protect the UGI planets from bomber runs as put enough missiles in the air bomber pilots were uneasy about doing a bomber run. These turrets proved useful during the Corporate war, they placed a few outside Coalition bases and it prevented enemy bombers or fighters to approach, with missiles with a maximum range of 80,000 miles they would follow the enemy and detonate.
